SEWER CAPACITY AND
REASSURANCE PROGRAM
(SCARP)
The SCARP Program
provides for evaluation and potential rehabilitation of the existing sewage
collection and interceptor facilities in order to ensure long term wastewater
capacity.
History: At times of wet weather, the flow
in the sewer lines peaks greatly causing for an overflow at the Allentown
Wastewater Treatment Plant. Federal and State agencies have required all
municipalities that discharge their wastewater into Allentown to have a program
to find and correct the inflow and infiltration of stormwater into the sewer
lines.
