SINGLE STREAM SPECIFICATIONS

 

All of your recyclables can be placed together in the same container!

No paper and commingle sorting required!

 

Commingled Recyclables, consisting of recyclable glass, aluminum, cans, plastics and papers, generally collected from residential recycling, as follows:

 

Materials listed in this group can be placed in the same container for recycling:

 

´ Aluminum food and beverage containers with food debris removed to include aluminum foil and pie/baking tins.  Labels do not need to be removed.

´ Glass food and beverage containers with lids and food debris removed: brown, clear, or green.  Labels do not need to be removed

´ Natural and pigmented plastic narrow-neck containers with symbols 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 (milk bottles, water bottles, detergent bottles, shampoo bottles, bleach bottles, etc).  Labels do not need to be removed

´ Ferrous (Iron, steel, tin) cans with food debris removed.  Labels do not need to be removed

´ Newsprint – black and white or pigmented.  Do not place in plastic bags

 ´ Construction paper, kraft paper

´ Fiber-board such as cereal boxes, shoe boxes or similar

´ Junk mail, magazines, catalogs and telephone books

´ Printer paper, copy paper, computer paper

´ Corrugated cardboard

´ Empty gable-top milk and juice containers (quick rinse please)

 

 

Materials Not Accepted, include but are not limited to (“Unacceptable Materials”):

 

W Wax coated paper or cardboard

W Any material with substantial food debris (small trace amounts of food residue is ok)

W Plastic Bags or films of any kind.

W Batteries of any kind.

W Styrofoam of any kind.

W Light bulbs of any kind.

W Mirrors, window or auto glass, porcelain, ceramics, glass cookware/bake ware, microwave oven trays, drinking glasses, perfume/cologne bottles.

W Wood or Yard Waste

W Unnumbered plastics

W Coat hangers, WireHousehold items such as toasters, cookware, bake ware, electronics, appliances, etc.

W Hazardous or toxic substances

W Items containing or having debris and residue containing hazardous or toxic substances such as paint cans with wet paint, motor oil containers, gasoline cans, glue, petroleum products, etc.

W Aerosol cans.
